Redback Networks Wins INTERNET TELEPHONY’s 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award

SmartEdge 1200 Honored for Outstanding Innovation

San Jose, Calif – July 23, 2008 — Redback Networks, an Ericsson company (NASDAQ: ERIC) that develops IP-based routers and switches for 75+ percent of the world’s largest telephone carriers, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) named the SmartEdge® 1200 as a 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner presented by its publication, INTERNET TELEPHONY. Redback’s SmartEdge 1200 is the first million subscriber rack for triple-play services such as HDTV, HD VoD and broadband mobility, and has been honored with twelve industry awards since its introduction.
