Redback Networks Wins INTERNET TELEPHONY’s 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award
SmartEdge 1200 Honored for Outstanding Innovation
San Jose, Calif – July 23, 2008 — Redback Networks, an Ericsson company (NASDAQ: ERIC) that develops IP-based routers and switches for 75+ percent of the world’s largest telephone carriers, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) named the SmartEdge® 1200 as a 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner presented by its publication, INTERNET TELEPHONY. Redback’s SmartEdge 1200 is the first million subscriber rack for triple-play services such as HDTV, HD VoD and broadband mobility, and has been honored with twelve industry awards since its introduction. “This is the second year in a row that TMC has bestowed its highest honor on Redback based on the trend-setting capabilities of our SmartEdge multi-service edge routing platform,” said Simon Williams, senior vice president of products, marketing and strategy. “This recognition further validates the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and the technical strength behind Redback’s SmartEdge 1200.
