Today I have a coil of competitor woven strapping and you can see it has these flimsy cardboard plates and plastic bushings. The reason it has these is because the strapping has no tack so it just freely unravels from the coil.
This can be a big problem because the strap can fall into the gap between the cardboard and the coil and become a tangled mess. Also the cardboard folds and deteriorates and becomes useless.
But some people us the coil configuration if they are using these small forklift brackets that require a smaller hole than the 3″ international standard, such as with Redback coils.
But our coils don’t need endplates because our strapping have a premium coating with a slight tack so they stay together for easy controlled payout; And its our premium coatings that work together with our weave patterns and buckle geometry to provide some of the highest joint strengths in the industry. So if you have no tack, it is our experience that you likely have little or no coating and that is a huge compromise just to use the forklift holder brackets.
Luckily, Redback has a solution. If you’re dead set on using a forklift bracket with a 1 ” diameter shaft Redback offers reusable ABS plastic endplates to adapt our 3″ cores to 1″ setups. The result is high performance strapping with no tangles and no mess. Redback endplates keep the coil secure and eliminate the hazardous mess of strapping falling off a forklift coil holder bracket.
And pro tip, when swapping out your endplates shimmy them out of the core to prevent them from breaking. If you just pull from the outside they will likely flex too hard and break.
Don’t compromise performance and safety, call Redback to get a set of Redback endplates.
