Cargo Lashing

Redback cargo lashing

Designed specifically for crating, project cargo and export packaging, Redback® Cargo Lashing is an economical alternative to steel banding, chains, wire rope, and other blocking and bracing materials used in heavy duty one-way transport. Using various combinations of webbing, ladder buckles and hooks, Redback® Lashing can quickly accommodate the challenges of different strapping angles and anchor points to secure static and dynamic loads. Redback® Cargo Lashing stays tight during transit and is ideal for shipping heavy or irregular shaped freight inside of rail cars and ocean containers, as well as onto marine vessels, barges and flat rack containers.

Key Benefits of Cargo Lashing

  • Strong:  Higher tenacity that steel banding
  • Shock Absorption: Low elongation and memory allows our lashing to resist impacts and load shifting during transit, so goods stay stable and intact.
  • Retensionable:  Lashing straps can be re-tightened.
  • Fast and Easy to Apply:  Lashing is lightweight, flexible and has no sharp edges.
  • Economical:  Less expensive than steel banding, chain and wire rope.  Reduces or eliminates the need for blocking and bracing.

Redback® Cargo Lashing is our strongest strapping.  Compatible lashing fasteners can be found here.  For lower break strengths, consider Redback® Woven Strapping or Redback® Composite Strapping. Applications

Q&A:

Most Redback Lashing Systems are AAR Approved.

Tie down straps utilize a small sewn on ratchet buckle for tension.  Redback Cargo Lashing is a modular system that utilizes a heavy duty detachable tensioning tool capable of achieving much higher tension.

Redback has system strengths displayed on all of our category and product pages. Generally speaking you can compare the linear strength of your steel banding to the system strength of the woven or composite strap you are considering switching to. In the end it is a judgement call about what works for your application.

AAR and cargo shipping are common applications for Redback Woven and cord strapping.  For a full list of our cargo lashing please go here: CARGO LASHING

Redback strapping is typically used in loop form around a load and secured with a buckle.  Here is a short introductory video where you can see how the strap is applied to a load: REDBACK STRAPPING

Redback strapping is used on everything from lumber and scaffolding to rail and cargo container applications. If you are shipping something and are looking for something better than steel banding or outdated truck straps please contact us to discuss your application: CONTACT US
