Phosphated Wire Strapping Buckles

Redback® heavy gauge phosphated wire buckles are designed for use with Redback® woven polyester cord strapping to provide maximum joint efficiency and high system strength. Our superior buckle geometry results in a stronger system, so straps stay tight and secure during transport. For optimal performance and safety, always request Redback® buckles for use with Redback® Strapping.
Key Benefits
- Heavy Duty Phosphated Coating: Provides extra grip in wet conditions. Reduces slippage caused by high vibrations and impacts during transport.
- Premium Grade Wire:: Straps fail when the clips bend, so Redback® uses top quality steel with high carbon content to maintain fastener integrity and maximize strength.
- Diverse Applications: Redback® phosphate wire buckles are ideal for use with our woven polyester strapping to secure heavy loads, bundled loas and irregular shaped objects

Q&A:
When should a phosphate buckle be used, versus a galvanized buckle?
Woven strapping should always be used with a phosphate wire buckle. This is because woven strapping is more pliable, so it requires a fastener with a slightly rough or higher surface friction than a smooth galvanized buckle can offer. You can also use phosphate buckles with composite banding, but it is more difficult to thread composite bands through phos buckles, so in the case of composite banding, galvanized buckles are preferred.
What is the difference between a seal and buckle.
A wire buckle is the type of fastener used to join woven and composite cord strapping, It can also be called a clip or a seal.
Do you sell clips?
Many people confuse bent wire buckles for clips. Redback offers a full range of phosphate and galvanized buckles to go with our woven and composite strapping. We even have heavy duty ladder buckles for our cargo lashing. Please see our products tab for the buckle sections or give us a call to learn more about buckles.
What are the right clips to use with woven strap?
In order to produce the best joints you should use phosphate buckles with woven strap. It is important to use strap and buckles that are designed to work together. If you would like to know more about this please watch this video: REDBACK BUCKLES STAY CLOSED
What buckles have a phosphate coating?
The wire buckles for the woven strap have a phosphate coating. You can find a full list of our phosphate coated buckles here: PHOSPHATE BUCKLES
How do I know if my buckles have a quality coating?
It can be hard for the untrained eye to know the difference between a good coating and a subpar coting. A good way to be sure is to buy your buckles from Redback.
Do these buckles have a weather-resistant coating?
Redback buckles have a heavy duty coating designed to work in all weather conditions.
What is the buckle efficiency of woven and composite strapping?
Redback buckles have a high joint efficiency generally around seventy percent. Here is a video where we show and discuss our joint strengths and compare them to some competitors: REDBACK VS COMPETITOR
What is the correct buckle for woven and composite strapping?
Phosphate buckles are the correct match for woven strap and galvanized buckles are the correct match for composite strap.
