Woven Cord Strapping

Redback® Woven Polyester Cord Strapping outperforms steel banding and provides optimum protection against serious injury to employees and customers. Redback Woven Strapping can absorb impacts and load shifting that usually break steel banding, and it will not lash back dangerously when cut. Redback Woven Strapping is fast and easy to use and stays firm and tight on products without causing rust or damage. Redback® poly woven strapping can be fastened with an economical tool and heavy-duty wire buckle, or it can be hand tied
Key Benefits of Woven Strapping
- Unmatched Strength: As strong as steel
- Shock Absorption: Our strapping’s low elongation and memory enable it to resist impacts and load shifting during transit, keeping goods stable and intact.
- Safe to Handle: Unlike steel banding, our woven strapping has minimal risk of injury because it has no sharp edges and will not lash back dangerously when cut.
- Flexible and Versatile: It is soft and pliable, easily conforming to different shapes and sizes, making it ideal for various applications.
- Weather Resistant: Our strapping is designed to withstand UV rays, moisture, and extreme temperatures, making it perfect for outdoor storage and shipping.
- Economical: Less expensive than steel banding. High-quality tools are low maintenance and cost less than most steel strapping tool repairs.
Additional break strengths in 1-1/4” to 1-1/2” inch strap width are available in the Redback® Cargo Lashing product range. Woven cord strapping kits can be found on the Redback® Accessories page. Q&A:
What is the difference between woven strapping and composite cord strapping?
While woven strapping and composite cord strapping have similar technical properties, the main difference is that woven strapping is not encapsulated in plastic, so it is more soft and pliable. Both are an excellent alternative to steel strapping for securing cargo and reducing cargo damages in heavyweight load applications, but it is recommended to use woven polyester cord strapping with a phosphate wire buckle to maximize joint strength and reduce slippage.
What are the right clips to use with woven strap?
In order to produce the best joints you should use phosphate buckles with woven strap. It is important to use strap and buckles that are designed to work together. If you would like to know more about this please watch this video: REDBACK BUCKLES STAY CLOSED
What strap seals do I use with woven and composite?
In order to produce the best joints you should use phosphated buckles with woven strap and galvanized buckles composite strap. It is important to use strap and buckles that are designed to work together. If you would like to know more about this please watch this video: REDBACK STRAPPING VIDEO
What tensioner is used for woven strapping?
Woven and composite strapping is secured with a windlass tensioner. This is a tension-based system and applying proper tension is essential for getting the most our of your straps. Redback offers a variety of tensioners. Generally a high quality tensioner will last for years longer than steel banding or extruded PET strapping tools. The best way to make sure you are using the right tool with the right strap is to give us a call. Please see our heavy duty tools section to brows our selection of high quality tools: HEAVY DUTY TOOLS ACCESSORIES

Do you sell everything I need to use woven strapping?
Yes we do. You can find carts and accessories / tools in the marked sections of our products page: PRODUCTS
What is the linear break strength of woven strap?
Linear break strength is end to end strength. If you took a piece of strap and pulled it apart until it broke that would be It’s linear strength. Each strap has a different linear break strength and they are all on the individual product page. For example our RBC65 found here: RBC65 has a linear break strength of 1375 but a system strength of 2200.
Is woven strap heat resistant?
Woven strapping will perform well in all weather conditions. However you will want to avoid any applications that are over two hundred degrees.
What product applications are there for woven and composite strapping?
Virtually all applications that use steel banding are excellent candidates for woven and composite strapping. If you are a distributor and would like to discuss customer applications and how to convert your customers to Redback cord strapping or woven strap please contact us here: CONTACT US
Is woven and composite strapping the same as extruded polyester strapping?
Generally extruded strapping refers to strap that is a single piece of plastic and secured with a heat tool. Woven and composite is very different, being made of high strength yarn, coating, and secured with a steel buckle. The system strength and overall performance of woven and composite strapping is far higher and it has better impact resistance, all weather performance, and general durability.
