Strapping Intro Addendum

Redback Strapping is STRONG

Redback Strapping is THE safe and superior alternative to steel banding.

Redback strapping is used in lumber yards and many industrial applications for securing heavy loads, bundled loads and irregular shaped objects.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Redback Strapping has HIGHER TENACITY THAN STEEL, so it can absorb impacts that would normally break steel banding
  • It also has the HIGHEST CROSS DIRECTIONAL STRENGTH of any banding material on the market, so it will not rupture like the green poly strapping
  • And, unlike steel banding, it won’t cause serious injury or lash back dangerously when cut. SAFE – WILL NOT LASHBACK DANGEROUSLY
  • In addition, it is FAST AND EASY TO USE
  • And, Redback Strapping is LESS EXPENSIVE THAN STEEL banding

Redback Strapping stays tight and maintains tension over time.  Watch how fast and easy it is to secure Redback Strapping around this heavy lumber load.    We use a specially designed wire buckle and an economical tool that tensions and cuts the strap.   The buckle is applied manually by threading the strap through the middle of the buckle and looping it over the leg.  Any excess slack is then pulled out by hand before applying tension with the tool.  Redback Strapping has high modulus of elasticity, so as it is stretched around the load, it fights back exponentially like an industrial shock absorber to return to its original shape.

Redback strapping is comprised of 2 different types

Woven Strapping and Composite Strapping

Woven Strapping looks and feels like a backpack strap, whereas Composite Strapping has a plastic coating and looks and feels like a thick filament tape

Both are manufactured with the same high tenacity industrial filament yarn, so they have similar technical properties and performance.  The same tool is used to tension both types of strapping.

The main difference is the fastener.  Woven Strapping is fastened with a phosphated Wire buckle and Composite Strapping is typically fastened with a galvanized wire buckle.

Another difference is that woven strapping coils have a 3” inside diameter core, whereas composite has an 8” inside diameter, so they require different strapping dispenser carts and Redback has several economical options, including a dispenser that mounts to the cage of a forklift.

PACKAGING CONFIGURATIONS

Redback Strapping is sold by the carton or by the pallet.  Woven Strapping is 54 cartons per pallet, composite strapping is 45 cartons per pallet and buckles are typically 48 cartons per pallet.  Redback offers prepaid freight on full pallet quantities and can mix and match strapping and buckles on the same pallet for freight advantage.  This is especially convenient when drop shipping custom logo’d product with the customer’s name and logo printed on the strapping.  Redback’s color printing service requires a small upcharge and is well known to be the best printing quality in the business.

So, how does Redback Stack up against the competition

REDBACK vs COMPETITION

We have several short videos that demonstrate Redback’s superior, repeatable performance:

  • Our 5 Star Performance Video clearly shows Redback strapping outperforming the competition
  • Our System Strength Video demonstrates the superior performance of Redback strapping and buckle combinations
  • And, our Competitor Slip Video shows how many of the main products in the market really perform.
  • Unlike a lot of Orange Strapping in the market, our Orange Gunk Video shows that Redback Strapping will not gunk up tools like a bag of cheese puffs.
  • And we also have a Low Elongation Video proving our strapping has as much as HALF the elongation compared to the leading US manufacturer, so our straps stay tight around loads and our buckles stay closed.
  • Our All Weather Video shows how our unmatched QC enables Redback Strapping to perform in all temperatures without gumming up in the summer or cracking in the cold.
  • We also have a quick Tips & Tricks Video
  • And a Tool Repair Video showing the most common repair in less than 4 minutes.
