Tool Video 2

Today I’m going to show you the cam angle adjustments on the foot of the TM 325 tool. The goal with this adjustment is to make sure the rubber foot is parallel to the base.

Use retaining ring pliers to remove the retaining ring.

Next, remove the gripper body from the eccentric shaft. Sometimes you have to pull the lever down to get it to come out correctly.

Take the gripper shaft out of the gripper foot.

And remove it from a gripper body. There’s a bushing here, that you don’t want to lose. So make sure you just put that to the side.

Here you have the set screw in the back and the spring in the front. The set screws will adjust the angle of the gripper foot. If you want your grip a foot to bite down, turn the screw counterclockwise. If you want your group of foot to slack off a little bit, turn it clockwise. You only need about a quarter turn.

For that, you want to use a 2.5mm Allen Key.

Just like that.

Now we’re going to put it back together. Note that on the gripper foot there’s a left side that’s wide. And the right side that’s thin. The right side, the thin side is what is going against the 325 tool.

On the tool you can see here with their space for this to fit. That’s also where the spring is going to sit. We’ll show you that now. Take the end of the spring right here, put it in that hole.

Place it on the shaft. Squeeze the lever to get it to fall into place. Remember to leave a little bit of space between the body and the gripper foot. That way you can get the spring here to go inside.

Lastly, you need a new retaining ring. For the sake of the video, I’m just gonna use the old one.

Here I’m going to show you how to replace the windlass on the TM 325 tool.

I use a flathead screwdriver to remove this retaining ring right here.

Make sure that doesn’t fly away. Remove the washer.

Should pop right out.

Before I put this back in. I want to show you that the armhole right here, you can see it.

Does come up.

And it blocks the exit of this hole. There’s a trick to that.

Also, please note the teeth on the ratchet wheel. They face backwards.

So the if the teeth are facing front. The front of the tool. That’s not good. Make sure your face is backwards so it works correctly.

When you put that back in this little arm should pop out. If it’s hidden, it’s okay. You can just push it out.

When you do, put this back and make sure that the ratchet wheel is on top of this right here.

This right here. The shape of the windlass is flat on that side. Flat on that side. And that’s going to fit in there.

Into the flat of this. See?

In order to get this all the way through. Don’t forget about that pal arm right there. I like to use this Allen key. Bring it down. And that allows me to get that inside.

Now you can put the washer back on and the retaining ring.

You’ve now, replaced the windlass on the TM325 tool. Don’t be surprised if this is a little difficult to get back in there. You just have to line all the pieces up the right way.

I’m going to show you how to remove and replace the cutter in the TM325 tool.

First you need a three millimeter Allen key and that’ll remove the set screw right here. Make sure it’s the one in the middle. Not that one. Not that one.

There’s a trick to removing the old cutter. And that’s by taking the new cutter and matching the shape right there. You can see that it’s flat on one end.

And you keep pushing until that comes out.

This is a cutter spring. This one right here. It’s going to rest right there on the left. And this one sticking backward. This is going to rest on this little part right here.

The trick here is to use the old cutter. Remember, it has a very specific shape to it.

But the old cutter will keep this arm in place.

Now, you can put pressure on the spring.

And make sure you put this in of the right orientation, because this is flat as well.

And now you’ve been able to put that back in.

Now see you want to find your set screw and your five millimeter Allen key.

And put that back in.

And that’s how you replace and remove the cutter.
